After nearly fifteen months since its opening, the exhibition Planète Jeux closed its doors on Sunday, July 5. The entire team at the Swiss Museum of Games would like to extend a warm thank you to the thousands of visitors who came to explore the exhibition, participate in its many activities, and share their passion for games with us.
Now it’s time for a new adventure. The museum’s first floor is undergoing a major transformation to host our next temporary exhibition, Playing Cards: From Their Origins to Trading Cards, which will open on Friday, August 21.
The museum remains open all summer
During this installation period, the museum remains open and welcomes you to its permanent exhibition The History of Play: The Great Epic of Games, an exhibition that traces several millennia of the history of games through a remarkable selection of objects.
Our game room is also available for enjoying a fun time with family or friends playing a variety of board games.
If the sun is out, be sure to enjoy our terrace for a break, a drink, or an ice cream… and why not extend the fun by playing a game overlooking the lake?
No set price during construction
To allow you to enjoy the museum during this transition period, admission is free until the new exhibition opens.
Everyone is free to contribute whatever amount they choose to explore the permanent exhibition Just for Fun, enjoy our game room, and have a pleasant time on our terrace.
We look forward to welcoming you throughout the summer, and then, starting August 21, we’ll introduce you to Playing Cards, an exhibition dedicated to the fascinating history of playing cards and their incredible evolution into contemporary trading cards.
