On November 7 and 8, 2026, the museums of the Riviera will open their doors to families for a weekend full of discoveries and activities! The Swiss Museum of Games is participating in this new editionof “Family at the Museums ” with a creative workshop centered on playing cards.
It’s up to you to come up with your own card game!
Did you know that a single deck of cards can be used to create a whole variety of different games? What if, this time, it were up to you to come up with your own?
In the “Make Your Own Card Game!” workshop, children and adults are invited to work together to create their own card game. Symbols, colors, illustrations… The choice is yours—let your imagination run wild!
Each family will leave with their own personalized game, ready to be used for more games at home.
The workshop is open to children ages 5 and up and takes place on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; registration is required.
Two Exhibitions to Enjoy as a Family
This weekend also offers a chance to dive into the fascinating world of card games through our special exhibition, “Playing Cards: From Their Origins to Collectible Cards.”
From the first cards that appeared more than 600 years ago to the must-have Pokémon, Magic, One Piece, and Lorcana cards, discover how these little rectangles of cardboard have stood the test of time and taken the world by storm!
And to extend the experience, our permanent exhibition,“The History of Play,” invites you to explore the history of play across different eras and cultures, with plenty of opportunities to play and experiment.
A weekend to enjoy with the family
Organized bythe Riviera Museums Association,“Family Fun at the Museums” brings together 11 institutions for a program of activities specially designed for children and their families.
Residents of the partner municipalities also enjoy free admission to participating museums throughout the weekend, subject to the event’s terms and conditions.
