A Record-Breaking Edition for the 2026 Games Festival

The Swiss Museum of Games also drew large crowds, with attendance up 25% from the previous year. The castle and its surroundings were the center of numerous activities, including outdoor games, card games, traditional games, play-conferences, and many other fun discoveries.

This third edition was also marked by the expansion of new areas dedicated to video games and arcade games, as well as trading card games and pop culture, which proved to be a huge success over the three days.

Records and Highlights

Among the weekend’s highlights, the giant game of “The Werewolves of Thiercelieux” set a new world record with 167 participants. The three game-themed cruises on Lake Geneva were fully booked, while the game swap meet broke all its records with more than 7,000 games donated and nearly 5,500 sold.

The winners of the second season of LEGO Masters, meanwhile, worked alongside festivalgoers to collaboratively create two giant murals, one of which was made up of some 32,000 pieces.

As night fell, the Château also came to life thanks to the video mapping created by Lumen. Inspired by the “Playing Cards” exhibition at the Swiss Museum of Games, this new creation played with the monument’s architecture—its windows, doors, and reliefs—to deliver two particularly spectacular evenings.

Nearly 200 volunteers have stepped up

An event of this magnitude could not take place without the dedication of those who bring it to life. Nearly 200 volunteers stepped up over the weekend to welcome the public, run the various areas, and assist with the many activities offered throughout La Tour-de-Peilz.

Following this record-breaking edition, the organizers are already working on the next one. As the Festival continues to grow, they will focus in particular on reviewing visitor reception, transportation, and the operation of certain venues in order to further enhance the experience for the public, volunteers, and partners.

The dates have already been set: the fourth edition of the La Tour-de-Peilz Games Festival will take place on September 3, 4, and 5, 2027.
